This year, Goldstein Hall has been selected as one of six finalists for the 2020 Grunin Prize! The Grunin Center administers the award of an annual Grunin Prize for Law and Social Entrepreneurship to recognize lawyers’ participation in the ways in which business is increasingly advancing the goals of sustainability and human development.

Nominated for the Joint Ownership Entity of New York City or “JOE NYC”, Managing Partner, David A. Goldstein, Senior Associate, Jason Labate, Special Counsel, Gabriel Gerbi, and Special Counsel, Ryan Thompson, were named for their work with the nonprofit membership organization that owns and asset manages a portfolio of affordable multifamily properties. JOE NYC is a new model for preserving long-term affordability of housing and allowing mission-driven community development corporations (CDCs) to achieve scale through increased financial stability, improved operational efficiencies, and reduced expenses.

While Covid-19 has inevitably delayed the announcement of this year’s winner until the fall, it is a great honor to be nominated for such an award, and we are delighted to showcase the JOE NYC model. For additional information about this special initiative, click here to read more.
