North Carolina Housing Conference: Joint Ownership Entity (JOE) Workshop

The North Carolina Affordable Housing Conference is presented by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, the North Carolina Housing Coalition and Centrant Community Capital. Each year, the NC Affordable Housing Conference features more than 20 informative and timely sessions including an inspiring opening session.

Joint Ownership Entity (JOE) Workshop
This session will explore how community development corporations (CDCs) can collaborate to maintain scale and financial heft to remain competitive and profitable in today’s housing market. Learn more about the Joint Ownership Entity (JOE), a joint ownership and asset management structure for property owned by 11 nonprofit CDCs in New York City. JOE leverages the CDCs’ mission-driven, community-based expertise city-wide, allowing them to achieve greater scale. JOE can enhance CDC viability, helping to preserve existing developments for long-term affordability and to acquire and develop new projects and opportunities for nonprofit affordable housing ownership.
