Casanova Residences is a 96-unit fully affordable housing project in Hunts Point, the Bronx. The development will provide 58 supportive housing units for formerly homeless residents, with the remaining apartments designated for low-income households.

The project represents a collaborative effort between The Doe Fund, the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), and private financing partners to expand access to affordable housing. As one of the first developments associated with the city’s efforts to accelerate affordable housing construction, Casanova Residence plays an important role in the ongoing revitalization of Hunts Point while integrating permanent housing with on-site supportive services to promote long-term stability for residents.

Upon completion, the development will deliver a total of 96 affordable residential units, strengthening the neighborhood’s housing supply and supporting the continued growth of the Hunts Point community.

Goldstein Hall’s Role

Goldstein Hall served as legal counsel to the project and its sponsor, The Doe Fund, Inc. The firm provided legal guidance from the acquisition stage through the construction financing closing, advising on the project’s development, financing, and construction. Goldstein Hall also handled key project documents, including design and construction contracts, property management agreements, tax credit investor agreements, regulatory agreements, and real estate financing instruments such as commitment letters, building loan agreements, notes, mortgages, and guaranties.
